The Virginia Agribusiness Council is seeking an applicant to join its small professional team based in Richmond, Va. Our mission is to “Represent Virginia Agribusiness with a Unified Voice”. We use our diverse membership to advocate for the agricultural and forestry industries. The Council serves as the platform for all facets of Virginia’s largest industries to be heard, and we do so through careful consideration and a consensus building process that ensures statewide relevancy and insight. We share our “Unified Voice” with our elected officials, agency regulators, and the public to ensure that Virginia’s agribusinesses can continue to provide quality goods and services to the world.
As the Operations and Member Engagement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing our member services to deliver results across an unmatched industry network. Your responsibilities will revolve around operational performance, driving efficiencies in our event planning process, delivering comprehensive customer service, supporting our members, and providing exceptional performance to ensure efficient operations. This position requires excellent communication skills and a proven track record of delivering results in a small team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Needs to be self-motivated, a team player, and consensus builder.
· Excellent people, organization, and communication skills.
· Must favorably convey a positive, professional image of the organization at all times.
· Ability to work on and manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
· Proficiency in the use of current information technology skills (i.e. Microsoft Office applications, social media, etc.)
· Travel will be limited to the Richmond area, but opportunities for compensated, in-state travel will be available.
· Physical requirements are limited to general office demands
· In office preferred, but hybrid options are available based on experience. No fully remote options are currently available.
· The work schedule follows a traditional Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm model with a few exceptions throughout the year.
