All of us at the Virginia Agribusiness Council are so grateful for your support of the Council and our Legislative Banquet. We are appreciative of the grace and understanding we received following the unfortunate cancellation of this year’s event and want to share our gratitude for your patience as our staff deals with the repercussions as quickly as possible.
By the time we heard the news of the closing of Main Street Station due to the water issues impact the City of Richmond, our vendors were well underway preparing for the Banquet, from prepping and cooking food, delivering equipment, setting up and decorating the space, printing the programs and signage, and more. Due to this last-minute decision, we could not cancel them in time and will not receive refunds for all those expenses.
Several VAC members have reached out to see how they may help sponsor some of the losses, and we are immensely appreciative for those gestures. While we understand that everyone’s financial situations are different, if you would like to contribute in this time of need there are a couple of ways you can do that.
-
We can simply keep all or a portion of the fee from your table/ticket(s). While some sponsors helped with the costs of food and beverage, the ticket fees were to cover the remainder, as well as rental and labor costs, all of which we still must pay.
-
Secondly, if you would like to help beyond that, you can still join us as a sponsor of the event by clicking Register to the left.
We are exploring options to hold a Legislative event during Session and will recognize all financial contributions as sponsors at that event, as well as on social media, our website, and member e-newsletters. We are also happy to discuss other ways to acknowledge your support.
